PACS students drilling self-defense techniques in a group class
Real awareness. Real confidence.

Awareness before combat.

PACS is a veteran-led personal safety program built on three decades of multi-discipline martial arts, military service, and law enforcement work. We train the mindset first, then the mechanics.

01 The awareness pillar

Win the fight before it starts.

Most schools focus on combatives. PACS prioritises personal awareness. We teach you to read the vibe of an environment, identify pre-attack indicators, and de-escalate or avoid the situation entirely before anything turns physical.

02 The combatives pillar

Stripped of fluff. Built for 180 bpm.

Drawing from law enforcement and military backgrounds, the curriculum focuses on movement economy and decision-making under pressure. What you learn works when your heart rate spikes and your fine motor skills disappear.

Student feedback, cohort to cohort

"I came in expecting to learn punches. I left knowing how to read a parking lot. The awareness piece is what actually changed the way I move through the world."

"My daughter is seventeen and heading to college. We did the family workshop together. It's the first conversation that actually stuck, she texts me about it now."

D. Reyes

"Brought PACS in for our team off-site. Two hours, real scenarios, no theatre. People are still talking about it three months later."

From awareness to action

The framework that bridges practice and reality.

The PACS curriculum integrates Goju Shorin, Jaka-do, and Tae Kwon Do alongside law-enforcement and military training. We don't teach a single style. We teach a combative ecosystem that adapts to your body, your situation, and your stress response.

Family safety program

The conversations parents struggle to start.

How do you talk to a six-year-old about strangers without scaring them? How do you coach a teenager through a peer-pressure situation? PACS family sessions are built around the real conversations, parents only, parents plus kids, or full-family workshops.

  • Ages 6+ Stranger awareness without the fear
  • Teens Peer-pressure scenarios and verbal scripts
  • Parents The talks that keep awareness alive at home

The PACS manifesto

Predators beware. We mean business about your safety.

We don't promise you'll be safe forever. We promise you'll walk out reading the room differently than you walked in.

Book a consultation
PACS one-on-one consultation with a student
Step one

It starts with a 30-minute consultation.

Whether you're an individual, a family, a company, or a school district, the first conversation is the same: what are you actually worried about, what's your situation, and what shape of training will fit. No commitment. No pressure.

  • 30 minutes by phone, video, or in person
  • We map your concerns to a PACS curriculum
  • You decide on the format, private, group, or corporate
  • No obligation. No sales tactics.

Meet the founder

Three decades on the mat. Two careers under pressure.

Founder Paul Simms started his martial arts journey in 1985 across Goju Shorin, Jaka-do, and Tae Kwon Do. The specialised PACS framework was refined through years of military service and professional law enforcement work since 2013. It's the bridge between the discipline of traditional systems and the unpredictable nature of modern security threats.

Before you book

Common questions, honest answers.

The most common things people ask before scheduling a consultation. If you don't see your question, ask us directly.

  • Do I need any prior experience or to be in shape?

No. The PACS curriculum is designed to meet you where you are, physically, emotionally, and experientially. We've trained complete beginners, athletes, survivors, seniors, and everyone in between.

  • Will I have to spar or get hit on the first session?

No. The first session is a conversation and a scenario walkthrough. Physical drills come later, at your pace, in a controlled environment. We don't believe in trial-by-fire.

  • How is awareness different from other self-defense schools?

Most schools start with how to throw a punch. PACS starts with how to read a room. Awareness is the first pillar, the goal is to recognise the situation early enough that the physical response is never required.

  • Do you teach women-only or trauma-informed sessions?

Yes. We can scope a private or small-group session for women only, with a trauma-informed format. We don't make you re-enact anything you don't want to. Speak to us during the consultation and we'll match you with the right format.

  • What's the difference between in-person and online training?

Awareness, educational courses, family safety conversations, and home-security walkthroughs all run effectively online. Physical combatives skills are most effective in person at one of our two locations, or in private at your home or facility.

  • Do you offer corporate or team training?

Yes. Past clients have included companies, schools, civic groups, and faith communities. We scope each engagement to the actual situations your team faces. Contact us with a rough size and we'll schedule a consultation.

The PACS promise

The mindset and vigilance to navigate the world with confidence and peace of mind. That's what we teach.
